A Winter Tale from St Nicholas

On December 7, Ottawa gathered for a truly heartwarming and magical St. Nicholas celebration!

The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral, together with Ukrainian Canadian Social Services (UCSS), created an unforgettable event filled with kindness, light, and community spirit.

This celebration was organized in support of the BF Mriynyky Children’s Charity in Ukraine, bringing joy, hope, and warmth to nearly 100 children in Canada, with over 200 members of our Ukrainian community attending

The beautiful program was prepared by the young adult theatre group “Kryla” (directed by Tetiana Fomina), with special performances by the Ukrainian Ottawa Children’s Choir, filling the hall with the magic of Christmas.

St. Nicholas visited each child, bringing gifts, smiles, and a sense of Ukrainian tradition — a little piece of home right here in Canada.

Let us celebrate the unity and strength of our community!

Together for Victory. Together for the future. Children of Ukraine — our Dreamers!
